The Story Behind Four Stripes

Built From the Work.
Designed to Make It Better.

Four Stripes grew from the systems Kimberly Parker refined over 27 years of leading real interior design projects. She created the platform to give other designers a proven foundation for managing complex work, while still giving them the flexibility to lead projects their own way.

Why Four Stripes

Every Project Needs a Captain

Interior designers are often the ones holding the entire project together: translating the creative vision into decisions a builder can act on, keeping clients informed, coordinating vendors and consultants, and knowing what needs to happen next.

Four Stripes takes its name from the four stripes worn by a captain. The name reflects the role designers already play every day: setting the course, anticipating what’s ahead, and guiding everyone involved toward the same destination.

Four Stripes was built to support that leadership with structure, clarity, and practical guidance, while leaving room for every designer to lead in their own way.

Set the course. Keep the team aligned. Know what comes next.

Built From a Real Design Practice

The Experience Behind the Platform

Four Stripes wasn’t developed from the outside looking in. Kimberly Parker built the platform while actively leading Kimberly Parker Design, drawing on 27 years of experience managing complex residential projects, collaborating with builders and architects, and refining the systems her own team relies on every day.

Her background in civil engineering and construction management also shaped that process, giving her a clear understanding of what builders need, when they need it, and how design decisions affect the larger design-build process.

That combination of design and construction experience shapes how Four Stripes approaches everything from project planning and builder coordination to selections, pricing, approvals, and communication. The goal isn’t simply to keep information organized. It’s to help designers anticipate what’s coming, deliver more complete work, and lead projects with greater confidence.

27 Years of Experience

Leading luxury new builds and transformative remodels, guiding complex interior design projects from initial vision through completion.

Design + Construction

Proven in Practice

Processes used every day inside Kimberly Parker Design and shaped by the needs of builders and architects working alongside the design team.

Built Through Real Projects

From Process to Platform

As Kimberly Parker Design grew, Kim developed a repeatable process her team could follow to manage complex projects with the same level of preparation, coordination, and attention to detail every time. That process became the foundation for Four Stripes.

That’s why the Project Roadmap begins with a proven structure shaped by the work that actually happens on interior design projects, rather than asking every designer to invent a project methodology from scratch.

“A rising tide lifts all ships.”

A philosophy that helped shape Four Stripes.

A Philosophy Behind Four Stripes

Sharing What Works Raises the Standard for Everyone.

Being a part of the first all-women-built Parade home in the nation reinforced a belief that had been shaping Kim’s work for years: when designers share better ways of working, the entire industry gets stronger. The project brought women across design, construction, and the trades together to demonstrate what was possible through collaboration, preparation, and a shared commitment to raising the bar.

That same philosophy sits at the heart of Four Stripes. Kimberly chose to share the processes refined through decades of experience and inside her own firm so other designers could work with greater clarity, collaborate more effectively with builders and trades, and build stronger, more respected businesses.

“When we find a better way, sharing it makes us all better.”

Why It Matters

Great Design Needs a Strong Business Behind It.

Four Stripes brings together the experience, structure, and tools designers need to lead complex projects with confidence, without sacrificing the flexibility that makes every firm different.

The goal is bigger than staying organized. It’s helping designers communicate more clearly, collaborate more effectively, protect their time and profitability, and build businesses that earn the trust of clients, builders, and creative partners alike.

Creative freedom, backed by the structure to lead well.
